Deborah Julie Cross is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

HCPC Registration Number: CH21369

This registration number is displayed on our website and at the clinic premises.

Deborah Julie Cross is a member of the British Chiropody/Podiatry Association and holds professional indemnity insurance with New Hall Insurance, Bath Road, Maidenhead, with cover of £5 million. Insurance documentation is displayed at the clinic.

All services are provided in accordance with the HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.


3. Services Provided

We offer the following podiatry and chiropody services:

  • General podiatry
  • Biomechanics
  • Verruca treatment

Appointment Duration: Typically 45 minutes

Location: Clinic appointments only (no home visits)

Age Restrictions: We treat children from seven years of age. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will provide consent for treatment.

5. Payment Terms

Payment Methods: Card payment at the clinic (processed via Paymentsense)

When Payment is Due: Payment is required after your appointment

Deposits: No deposit is required when booking appointments

Refunds: No refunds are provided once treatment has been completed


6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Notice Period: We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment

How to Cancel: Cancellations must be made via email (dhayklan@icloud.com) or telephone (07854 648470)

Cancellation Fees: No cancellation fee is charged if you provide 24 hours’ notice

No-Show Fee: If you fail to attend your appointment without notice, a £25 no-show fee will be charged

Late Arrivals: While we do not have a formal late arrival policy, please note that arriving late may reduce your appointment time to ensure other patients are not delayed


7. Medical History and Assessment

At your initial appointment, you will be required to complete a medical history form and sign a consent form. This information is essential to provide safe and appropriate treatment.

We require the following information:

  • Full name, date of birth, address, and contact details
  • GP contact details
  • Current medications
  • Medical conditions and relevant health history
  • Previous foot problems and treatments

You must inform us of any changes to your medical history at subsequent appointments.

Treatment will only proceed with your informed consent. You have the right to refuse treatment at any time.


8. Contraindications and Referrals

We follow contraindication policies as set out by the HCPC and British Chiropody/Podiatry Association.

If contraindications are discovered during assessment or treatment, we reserve the right to:

  • Decline to provide treatment
  • Modify the treatment plan
  • Refer you immediately to your GP or hospital if clinically necessary

In emergency situations, we will take immediate action to ensure your safety, which may include emergency referral.


9. Consent to Treatment

By attending your appointment and signing the consent form, you confirm that:

  • You have provided accurate medical information
  • You understand the proposed treatment
  • You consent to the treatment being carried out
  • You understand any risks associated with the treatment

Treatment will only be undertaken with your consent. No treatment will proceed if you do not consent or if contraindications have been discovered.


10. Children and Vulnerable Adults

Children (Under 18 Years): Parental or legal guardian consent is required for all patients under 18 years of age. The parent or guardian must be present during the appointment.

Vulnerable Adults: Vulnerable adults must be accompanied by a responsible adult who can support them during the appointment and provide assistance with consent where appropriate.


11. Contagious Conditions

We do not have a specific policy excluding patients with contagious foot conditions such as athlete’s foot or verrucas, as these are commonly treated conditions. However, appropriate infection control measures are followed at all times.

If you have any infectious condition that could pose a risk to staff or other patients, please inform us when booking so we can make appropriate arrangements.


12. Data Protection and Privacy

We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Your personal data, including medical records, will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website and at the clinic.

Data Retention:

  • Medical records: 8 years from last appointment (adults) or until 25th birthday (children)
  • Financial records: 6 years
  • Appointment records: 8 years

Deborah Julie Cross holds professional indemnity insurance with New Hall Insurance, Bath Road, Maidenhead, providing cover of £5 million.

We take all reasonable care in providing our services. However, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

We do not have a specific policy regarding pre-existing conditions. All treatments are provided based on individual clinical assessment.
